Ledbetter Peas

We went to Fordyce over the weekend, and on the drive down I got to talking about how much I love black-eyed peas.

Then, as we were about to head home, my father-in-law presented me with a Corona Light box full of black-eyed peas from his garden. Awesome!

{To be exact, it was an assortment of purple hull peas and crowder peas.}

So I got to shell peas for the first time. Josh and I shelled them together, and it was so fun.

Then the next day I cooked them.

Leftovers.

They were so so good.

I cooked them in chicken broth with onion, garlic, bay leaf, thyme, salt and pepper.
